Teaching Style:

Tyler offers unique lesson plans individualized to each student all based on the students' skill level and goals. Teaching a wide variety of students from beginner to intermediate levels on all types of guitars(Classical, Acoustic, Electric and Bass) embracing all styles of music. Tyler always meets the students at there level whether the student reads tabalture, sheet music, lead sheets or simply learns by ear. Even if the student is a beginner and has little knowledge on notation, their are still so many pathways to success.

Tyler's initial approach to the new student depends greatly on the students goals. Teaching everything from classical guitar music, jazz music, blues, rock, country, and heavy metal. During lessons Tyler teaches by using a plethora of resources from; method books, videos, audio examples and his own written lesson plans.  Showing students the basic techniques of each genre to playing and writing songs like a pro .Teaching students the basics of the guitar all the way to preparing students to audition for their favorite college music program or musical job.

Tyler's Teaching Credentials

A little more about Tyler Jazz's. Tyler is Music Industry Graduate of HACC's Music program receiving his AA in Music industry, a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in their Songwriters program receiving his Certificate of Completion and finally receiving his BA at Messiah College as an Orchestral Composition major. Currently Tyler is seeking his MFA at Berklee College of Music. Throughout his time at all of these institutions Tyler has continued teaching alongside some of the best professionals in all of music.

Tyler has taught all age groups from 5 years of age to 72 years of age. Tyler has also received his FBI Clearances to teach all students of all age groups. These documents are available upon request of the student, parent or guardian. 

​

During his time as a student Tyler    started teaching children and adults guitar and general music. Tyler has since taken his teaching all across Central Pa as a traveling guitar teacher and music instructor. In May of 2016 Tyler was awarded his piano proficiency and has since been teaching piano and keyboard music and theory. The students he teaches range from beginners to advanced players from classical guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, to electric guitar. Teaching all ages Tyler has found the perfect approach to making sure all his students are prepared for a life long journey in making music.

  • How much do the lessons cost?

    • Lessons are $25 a half hour and $50 an hour​. Online Lessons are $20 a half hour and $40 an hour.

  • Where are the lessons held?

    • Lessons can be taught at Tyler's residence off of Chambers Hill Road in Swatara Township, or at BCR Music and Sound or Online or at the students home at an additional cost.

  • How can I book lessons?

  • Do I need to own a guitar or amplifier?

    • No, although that would be preferred ​you do not need to own a guitar to take guitar lessons. Just be sure to let Tyler know prior to your lesson.

  • Do you offer online lessons?

    • Yes​, lessons are offered on Skype students will need a web cam or webcam and microphone equipped computer with internet connection. 

  • What kind of guitar do you teach?

    • Tyler teaches on all  guitars Nylon stringed classical guitars, steel string acoustic guitars, electric guitar, and bass guitars.​

  • Can parents or guardians be present during lessons?

    • Yes, of course all parents and guardians are welcome to attend any lesson at any time​. Tyler only ask that small children are content during lessons to prevent distractions from the student learning.

  • Are there any fee's for missing a lesson or being late?

    • Students that miss a lesson are given the opportunity to cancel or reschedule within 72 hours with NO FEE. But a student who does not notify Tyler of missing a lesson will charged for that lesson. No exceptions unless it's an emergency. Students that are late will have NO FEE but, they will only be taught in there lesson slot a full lesson will not continue that day the student only loses time and will not be charged for being late but Full Payment will be expected at the beginning of the lesson.

  • What payments are acceptable

    • Online students can pay via Paypal​

    • In person students can pay by check, credit card or cash.

      • Any checks that bounce the student is required to pay the fee for the bounced check along with the initial charge for the lesson​.
